Background ‘droplet’

Native to the Red Sea region, Somalia, Ethiopia, and China, this leafy, ‘tangled’ tree, with its papery peeling bark yields an essential oil from the dried resin that oozes through cracks and incisions within the bark. Frankincense resin has been used in ceremonies for thousands of years, and was offered as a precious gift to Jesus by the three wise men. Frankincense is in deed a very valuable gift of nature. It is strongly anti-microbial, skin healing, and immune supportive, this essential oil aids breathing, calms anxiety, eases feelings of grief, impatience and hyperactivity, and encourages a sense of peace and tranquility, among many other special qualities. You will find deeper detail about this essential oil in my books, Essential Oils for Mindfulness and Meditation, and Essential Oils for the Whole Body
