Background ‘droplet’

Galbanum is native to the Middle East and Western Asia.  It is a large perennial herb with a smooth hollow stem, finely toothed ovate leaflets, and umbels of small white or yellow flowers.

The whole plant contains a milky white juice that exudes from the base of the stem when the plant is cut down. This juice hardens into translucent-white, sometimes light brown or olive, yellowish, or greenish tinted essential oil.

Its scent is initially intense, green and turpentine-like, fresh, sharp, and slightly coniferous.

Galbanum essential oil eases asthma, bronchitis, coughs, arthritic and muscular pain.

It also eases nervous tension, balances (sedative and stimulant) erratic moods, stress and stress related conditions, it is uplifting and tonic, among many other amazing qualities.
